The chorus, seemingly coordinated in short-sleeved collar shirts in various colorful patterns, is getting ready for this weekend’s series of shows celebrating its 25th anniversary at the Odell Johnson Performing Arts Center at Laney College. The shows are titled You Can’t Stop the Beat: A Pride Cabaret. Audition to join our talented singing members! tenor, baritone, and bass vocal ranges welcome. Oakland Gay Men's Chorus (OaklandGMC) is a choral ensemble of some 80 voices, headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area's East Bay. Membership is open to singers with voices in the tenor, baritone, and bass ranges. The Oakland Gay Men's Chorus OGMC serves the East Bay and greater Bay Area, in three seasonal and numerous church, community and outreach performances every year. We foster social justice and oppose discrimination through inclusion and education. OGMC takes pride in having a voice that reaches deep into the community and has raised funds and donated concert proceeds to the Oakland Youth Chorus, Lavender Seniors of the East Bay, P-FLAG Napa Chapter, The Rainbow Community Center, The Lighthouse Community Center, The Center for AIDS Services, Destiny Center for the Arts, and The Pacific Center for Human Growth.
